The department of Product Management for Books and Journals has recently been created at DaySpring to help us build and launch a book/journal business. This new department has been tasked with building the foundational pieces necessary for long term success for DaySpring in these product categories.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Managing Editor will:
:Direct book editorial strategy
:Manage book editorial freelance resources
:Provide feedback and re:direct freelancers
:Research, propose and acquire new titles
:Provide editorial analysis (what is working and what is not)
:Influence product development and back panel copy
:Manage editorial schedule and dates with production and Meta data.

:2 or more years of experience in editorial management
:Strong administrative skills : the ability to keep projects on schedule

:Blend of creativity in helping to develop book lists with the ability to create structure and sustainable processes
:Effective communication skills: written, oral and active listening
:Ability to foster good working relationships with authors and be able to coach and provide direction
:Keen interest and understanding of the target audience
